THE TWO OCEANS MARATHON 2013
two oceans 2
We congratulate all of our residents who set off on this extremely gruelling race this year.

The gale force winds which fought against them for the first half of the race resulted in extremely disappointing times for everyone. Never-the-less we pooped champagne corks for Ian and Bev Southern, David and Dawn Ryder, and regular Adam Sorensen. We salute you!

THE CAPE ARGUS CYCLE TOUR 2013
17 of our guests participated in this exhilarating event this year. I was one of them! It was a wonderful experience, although challenging (as one might expect). We hope that everyone who participated will be back again next year to try and knock off a minute or two from their times!

Here is a report about the winner – we can all aspire!

Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour winner Herman Fouche said the win hasn’t sunk in yet.

The team Bonitas rider pipped second place Tyler Day and Christoff van Heerden in a photo finish ending in a time of 2 hours 39 minutes and 55 seconds.

Fouche finally got the elusive win he wanted after coming second last year and third the year before.

“The first thing my team said was it looked like I won. My team mate and fellow sprinter Christoff van Heerden, came in third and had his hands up in the air for a win.”

Fouche said he couldn’t have won it without his team mates.

“With the last five or six kilometres, my team mates were in front controlling the bunch, putting all their trust in me. So I had to win it for the team.”
